SCHOOL PROJECT
WACKY WICKS
Wacky Wicks was a scented candle brand started by a group of 4 individuals (me included) for a school project. We used Shopify to create our very own ecommerce website to sell our candles and this was our first time creating a website.
At first it was tough figuring out the features of the website and how to build a proper website. Along the way, we gained inspiration on how to build a website from competitors (e.g. Hush Candles) and as time goes by, we quickly got the hang of the Shopify features. We had lots of fun designing our online page even though the process was long and tedious, after all, it was our first online page that we designed.
Our group sat down and discussed the key components/pages an ecommerce store should have. Firstly, we would need to have a "Home" page with a hero banner, featured products, blog and a contact us. Secondly, we need to have a "Catalog" and "Collections" page to showcase and list our products. Thirdly, we need to have an "About Us" and "Contact Us" page for customers to contact and reach out to us. Lastly, we need to have an "FAQ" page answering some possible enquires. Having a blog page is a plus.
SCHOOL PROJECT
SRAS
For this project, I was tasked to design a website for the upcoming Singapore Retail Association Symposium and we only had to design the home page. At first I thought that since I already had some experience with creating a website, this one shouldn't be much of a problem but oh boy was I wrong.
This time I had to use Wix and it was my first time using wix to build a website. Wix is alot harder to master as compared to Shopify as it has many different features and functions. Therefore, I had to spend weeks to experiment and learn it's functions and features. Till today, I must admit that I still have not mastered Wix but I am proud that I was determined enough to build the website till the very end. This website might not be the most presentable but at least it was hard work and I felt a sense of accomplishment after I had finished building it.
